Weehawken High School senior Neidelyn Pina was presented with a $10,000 scholarship from Nordstrom on October 19th at Weehawken High School.
Neidelyn Pina was selected as one of eighty recipients (out of 6,000 applicants) of the $10,000 Nordstrom scholarship awards. She applied to this scholarship as a junior, last year.
Nordstrom came to Weehawken High School to recognize her with a special surprise visit to her classroom in what Nordstrom calls “Prize Patrol.” It was a fun, quick way to congratulate and recognize Neidelyn. It was also very inspirational and motivating for their peers to see a fellow student recognized this way!
Nordstrom representatives arrived at the school and met in the main office approximately 20 minutes before the scheduled classroom visit. Once everyone had gathered in the main office, they walked as a group to the classroom and surprised Neidelyn in class. Nordstrom brought a BIG check and cupcakes for everyone.
