Thanks for visiting my page!

I am proud to serve the Weehawken School District as the Director of Pupil Services and Personalized Learning.  I oversee and supervise the district's Special Education Program, Response to Intervention Program (RTI), ESL Program, Academically Talented Program and Health Services Program.  It is my duty to ensure that every student is supported and encouraged to be the best that they can be.  I am honored to have the privilege to work with such outstanding students, dedicated teachers and caring parents.  My staff takes an active role and responsibility to ensure the success of every student.

I have been an administrator in the district since 2005.  I began my career as the Assistant Principal of Weehawken High School and then became Principal of Theodore Roosevelt School in 2009. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from St. Peter's University.  I have a Masters Degree in Administration and Supervision and a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from New Jersey City University.

I am here to assist you in any way possible.  Your communication is important  to me, however I spend a lot of time working with students and teachers and away from my desk.  I will do my best to respond to your concerns  in a timely fashion but sometimes I am unable to do so. If it is urgent contact my secretary, Mrs. Wright, in the Child Study Team Office at 201-422-6134.  If you have a concern about your child, please contact his/her teacher first. They are the best person to approach for an informal discussion.

I encourage all parents to become involved in their child's learning. With your continued involvement and support, we will continue to make great strides in preparing them for success in the future.  I look forward to seeing you and invite you to participate in all we have to offer!

Sincerely,
Al Orecchio
